Wearing "Peci" And "Batik", Jokowi Welcomes The Arrival Of The UAE President In Central Java
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) directly welcomed the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan (MBZ) at Adi Soemarmo International Airport, Boyolali, Central Java, Monday 14 November.
Mohammed Bin Zayed set foot in Central Java after getting off the UAE presidential plane and was greeted directly by President Jokowi under the plane's steps, as monitored from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube broadcast.
Jokowi, who was wearing a brown batik and black peci (cap), and Mohammed Bin Zayed greeted each other by kissing the right and left cheeks. Jokowi then introduced the officials accompanying him to Mohammed, namely Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Minister of State Owned Enterprise, Erick Thohir.

Mohammed was seen chatting with Gibran for a few moments. The President of the UAE was also greeted by the Paspampres honor guard and officers wearing traditional clothes typical of various regions in the country.
Next, President Jokowi and President Mohammed entered the same VVIP vehicle and left the airport.
The arrival of the President of the UAE, as conveyed by Gibran from uploading his Twitter account @gibran_tweet, aims to inaugurate the Sheikh Al Zayed Mosque in Gilingan, Banjarsari, Surakarta.
Gibran said the mosque with a capacity of 10,000 worshipers would become a center for teaching Islam rahmatan lil 'aalamin in Surakarta City.
"The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque will be a symbol of friendship between the two largest Muslim countries in the world," said Jokowi's first son.
