4 Teenage Thief Specialists In Disadvantaged Houses Arrested By Officials After Action In Mampang
JAKARTA - The Mampang Prapatan Sector Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Polsek) managed to apprehend four men who specialize in theft in empty houses after carrying out their actions in Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta.
"Of these four suspects, one suspect with the initials DS(26) is a collector and three suspects with the initials TF (26), RM (24), and MA (19) as perpetrators of looting," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Mampang Prapatan Police, AKP Budy Bowo Leksono in a written statement, Friday, November 11.
Budy continued, the four suspects with the initials TF (26), RM (24), DS (26), and MA (19) were arrested on the same day, but in different locations, namely in the South Jakarta and Depok areas on Thursday, November 10.
Budy said the theft carried out by the herd occurred on November 3, 2022 at around 05:30 WIB at one of the houses in Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta.
This group of perpetrators managed to steal an automatic type motorcycle and two cellphones.
"The perpetrator entered the empty house by climbing over the fence, then entering the house through the window glass, then taking two cellphones that were lying on the table and taking the motorcycle keys," said Budy.
Budy explained that from the hands of the four suspects, investigators secured a number of evidences, including six cellphones and two motorcycles.
Against the three suspects who were directly involved in this looting activity, investigators imposed Article 363 of the Criminal Code on theft with a threat of seven years in prison.
"Then against one suspect, namely as a collector, he was threatened with Article 481 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with 480 with the same threat of 7 years in prison," concluded Budy.
