The Ministry Of Industry Will Susun A Number Of Steps To Anticipate Various Issues Reported By HIMKI

JAKARTA - In the framework of the finalization of the draft Grand Strategy Plan (GSP) of the National Waret and Crafts Industry for the period 2022-2025, the Association of Indonesian Variables and Crafts Industries (HIMKI) together with the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) have just held a National Symposium with the theme "Through the Grand Strategy Plan, We Increase the Contribution of Variables and Crafts Industry to the Welfare of the Nation" at the Ministry of Industry Building, today, Thursday 10 November.

This event was attended by 100 participants, consisting of furniture & handicraft industry players, as well as related industrial stakeholders.

The National Symposium was officially opened by the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. On that occasion, Agus said that his party had received all aspirations from HIMKI and in the future would follow up on all the developing issues.

"We realize that the furniture and handicraft industry is still facing various obstacles and challenges. Based on the aspirations of HIMKI, we absorb some of the main issues faced by the domestic furniture and handicraft industry," said Agus.

Agus added that there are five issues that have been received by the Ministry of Industry, including prolonged logistics and shipping problems, market demand or share due to high inflation in export destination countries as a result of the Russian-Ukraine war, domestic problems related to supply chains of raw materials, technological and human resources problems, and the issue of implementing the Kayu Verification Functional System (SVLK).

Later, Agus said, after his party finds out about the various problems that have occurred in the industrial sector, the Ministry of Industry will immediately draw up steps to solve these various problems.

"These various main issues have become our concern and the Ministry of Industry will prepare various steps and support for efforts to resolve these issues. This effort certainly requires us to coordinate and collaborate with other Ministries or institutions according to their duties and authorities," he explained.

"We understand the aspirations of HIMKI regarding SVLK for the furniture and handicraft industry. For that, we will coordinate with the relevant K/L," he added.

Furthermore, Agus said, his party will also support the steps taken by HIMKI to introduce the national industry in the country.

"We will also fully support efforts to strengthen orientation to the domestic market by HIMKI because the national industry should become the king in its own country. P3DN and TKDN policies, import substitutions, capacity building programs, we will intensify all of them as a form of government alignment, so that domestic industries can be sovereign, advanced, and competitive," he added.

Just so you know, there are two purposes for the inauguration. First, synergizing the action plan 'Grand Strategy Plan for the Mebel Industry and National Crafts 2022-2025' with Government programs as derivatives of the Strategic Plan and/or the Related Ministry/Institutional Policy.

Second, uniting vision and mission, goals, strategic targets, policy directions, and development strategies in the field of the National furniture and Crafts Industry.
