Digital Migration Is Not Perfect, Gerindra Asks For Communication And Information And TV Stations Not Free Citizens Of The 2022 World Cup Nobar
JAKARTA - Member of Commission X DPR from the Gerindra faction, Elnino M Husein Mohi, asked the authorities not to criminalize residents who watched together, aka the 2022 World Cup event.
According to Elnino, there are still many public televisions or TVs that do not work because they are not digital after the analog switch off (ASO) on November 2, 2022. Elnino also asked related parties to understand and not discriminate against residents who win world trophies.
"The related parties are the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kominfo, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), broadcasting rights holders, and others. All of them are asked to protect citizens who are famous throughout Indonesia," Elnino told reporters, Thursday, November 10.
The Gorontalo electoral district legislator assessed that it had become a habit for people to do football events to entertain themselves. Moreover, when there is a World Cup moment and the like.
"It's not exciting and not entertaining to watch alone. Because there aren't many digital TV planes ready, watching a crowd on a TV / screen has become difficult to avoid," said Elnino.
According to him, instead of being creative people themselves to watch the World Cup via overseas broadcast via parabolic, it will benefit TV advertisers in the country more if citizens watch it on TV in Indonesia. However, said Elnino, some people are afraid because they are faced with a criminal threat if they are reckless in winning the World Cup illegally or without the permission of broadcast rights holders. "Therefore, we ask the authorities not to criminalize citizens just because of the World Cup," said Elnino.
Elnino added, by allowing the people of the World Cup, at least the government has served residents who since the COVID-19 pandemic have minimal entertainment.
"If residents are allowed a nobar, then football fans please watch it together, the important thing is to stay orderly and not violate other social regulations," explained Elnino.
