South Tangerang Police Thwarted The Delivery Of IDR 10 Billion Of Drugs From Jambi

TANGERANG - The South Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit arrested seven perpetrators suspected of distributing drugs with a total of 6,800 ecstasy pills and 5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. The 7 people had the initials MK, Y, S, E, H, AF, and AP.

Head of Narcotics Detectives, AKP Retno Jordanus, said that the disclosure began with reports from residents that there would be ecstasy and methamphetamine-type drugs from North Jakarta and Jambi to South Tangerang areas.

Armed with this information, the South Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation from Kota Baru, Jambi to Tanjung Priuk, North Jakarta.

"First Monday, October 17, Tanjung Priuk, North Jakarta, MK (is arrested), with 6,800 items of evidence," said Retno in his statement, Monday, November 7.

Based on the results of the examination, MK got illegal goods from Y and S.

"The team gave chase in Belawan Dua, Medan, got Y and S," he said.

Then in a different place, the Narcotics Investigation Unit also arrested the perpetrators who were in the Kota Baru area, Jambi. During the pursuit, the police arrested the four perpetrators along with evidence of methamphetamine.

“In Kota Baru, Jambi the suspects, E, H, AF, and AP. With evidence of 5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine wrapped in Guanyingwang Chinese tea," Retno said in a statement, Monday, November 7.

Now the 7 perpetrators have been taken to the South Tangerang Police. They were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 or Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of Law NO. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a minimum penalty of six years and a maximum of 20 years, or a life sentence or a death penalty and a criminal fine of IDR 1 billion and a maximum of IDR 10 billion.

"If accumulated in rupiah, the evidence of ecstasy and meth is equivalent to IDR 10 billion and saves 26,800 people," he concluded.
