Police Confiscate IDR 450 Million Allegedly For Money Politic In Supiori Papua
JAKARTA - The investigating team at the Gakkumdu Center, Supiori Regency, Papua Province confiscated IDR 450 million ahead of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections.
Reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 9, Papua Police Deputy Brigadier General Pol Mathius Fakhiri said the gakkumdu investigators from the Supiori Police, Tuesday, December 8 evening, secured a vehicle with police number B 1796 CZM carrying Rp.450 million.
This finding was revealed after receiving information about the existence of money politics in the Supiori Police area, so an investigation was carried out.
The results of the investigation found a car carrying Rp.450 million in cash in Duber Village, East Supiori District.
The case was revealed when the members carried out a raid targeting sharp weapons, liquor. Fakhiri added that when the money was found, most of it was already in the envelope.
The results of the interim examination revealed that the money would be given to witnesses or volunteers and that the case had been coordinated with Bawaslu and the prosecutor's office, which is part of Gakkumdu, said Police Brigadier General Fakhiri.
Papua Bawaslu member Amandus Situmorang separately claimed to have received information regarding the case, but it was still being investigated further.
"The alleged violation is still being investigated in order to find out who was the reported party," said Amandus.
