In The Face Of The 2024 General Election, Deputy Governor Of Central Java Wanti-wanti Politics Of Identity And Radicalism
Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of Central Java (Central Java) Taj Yasin Maimoen asked the public not to be influenced by the invitation to practice identity politics that could potentially threaten the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
"And it is also necessary to anticipate that there is no need for identity politics. The identity does exist, but there is no need to go inside, (an example) if it is not the same as us, we cannot support it and so on. No more," said the Deputy Governor while attending the National Hero Haul Akbar Kiai Kiai Ahmad Rifai at the Kendal Regency Pendapa, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Sunday 6 November.
According to him, what needs to be maintained at this time is the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation.
"Don't let the harmony of society be tainted with people who use practical politics," he said.
In addition to identity politics, the Deputy Governor also appealed to the public not to be easily instigated by radicalism ahead of the 2024 General Election.
He said that during the struggle to seize the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, many religious and santri figures also sacrificed so that the Pancasila Democracy government system had the final decision of the founding fathers of the nation and religious figures.
"We really have to call out that the Indonesian state government system is final, no one can discuss whether Pancasila is Islami or not because it is an agreement of the ulama, including Kiai Ahmad Rifai who also took part in fighting for it," he said.
