Profile Singer Rap Takeoff Of Migos Died Of Shooting
JAKARTA - Rapper Takeoff from the hip-hop group Migos was reportedly killed in a shooting that occurred in Houston, United States, on Tuesday, November 1 morning, local time.
According to reports from the Associated Press, Takeoff died at the age of 28. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene outside Houston's main arena, police said. No arrests were made.
"He is highly respected, and we have no reason to believe that he was involved in any crime at the time," Police Chief Troy Finner was quoted as saying by ANTARA.
Furthermore, Finner said most people fled after the shots started. He asked anyone who knew or had a video of what happened to help investigators identify the shooters.
Born as Kirsnick Khari Ball, Takeoff grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Gwinnett County, along with two other members in the group. Quavo is his uncle, and Offset is his cousin, and the three were mostly raised by Takeoff's mother.
Takeoff is the youngest of the three, and is seen as the most relaxed member. He doesn't appear on headlines like Offset who is married to Cardi B. He's also unlike Quavo who has guest starred on a number of popular songs with Post Malone, DJ Khaled and Drake.
However, the presence of Takeoff music played a major role in helping Migos to become one of the most popular hip-hop groups of all time. All three come with a fast triplet stream, to a rap style when three notes are performed in one of the beats they pop.
Previously, Quavo and Takeoff released a Halloween-themed music video for Messy just the day before Takeoff's death.
