When Will The PSSI KLB Be Held? Check The Schedule And Agenda Of The Congress Here
YOGYAKARTA – The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) decided to hold an extraordinary congress (KLB) after receiving pressure from various parties. So, when will the KLB be held?
As is known, Persis Solo and Persebaya Surabaya urged PSSI to immediately hold a KLB. The pressure received a positive response from members of the PSSI executive committee (Exco).
Not long ago, 12 Exco PSSI members held an emergency meeting. At the meeting, it was agreed that PSSI would accelerate the extraordinary congress.
PSSI is also known to have sent a letter to the International Football Federation alias FIFA regarding the request for the acceleration of the KLB.
The request for acceleration was conveyed by PSSI to FIFA through a letter numbered 4452/ULN/537/X-2022 addressed to FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura.
When will the PSSI KLB be held?
Adapting from VOI, the letter requesting the acceleration of the KLB signed by the Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi, revealed the dates for the regular and extraordinary congresses.
Previously PSSI stated that the PSSI Congress had been scheduled for November 2023. However, due to the pressure of member clubs which were the impact of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy, PSSI accelerated the congress.
For the Ordinary Congress, PSSI proposed to hold Saturday, January 7, 2023. Meanwhile, the PSSI KLB was chosen to be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
The proposed date for the PSSI Ordinary Congress and KLB PSSI is only a proposal. PSSI is still asking for FIFA recommendations regarding the approval of the date for the PSSI Ordinary Congress and KLB PSSI.
PSSI KLB agenda
In addition to containing the schedule for the regular congress and KLB, the letter of application sent by PSSI to FIFA also included the agenda of the congress.
The Ordinary Congress will contain the agenda for the establishment of the Electoral Committee and the Appeals Committee.
While the agenda in the KLB is the Election of the President, Vice President, and Members of the Executive Committee (Exco).
PSSI KLB is not the first time
The urge to hold an extraordinary congress is not the first time PSSI, as the Indonesian football federation, has faced.
The urge to hold an extraordinary event occurred when PSSI was led by Ali Sadikin and Nurdin Halid
"This model of pressure is not the first time. Ali Sadikin, was overthrown. Then, Nurdin Halid (NH) was demonstrated for 11 months, 2010-2011. The demonstration was clearly coordinated," said PSSI Statute Formulation Team Leader Dali clean.
In fact, according to the owner of Gelora Surya Dharma Tahir's full name, during the time of Nurdin Halid until there was a rival PSSI as the aftermath of Nurdin's uncertainty as the General Chair of PSSI at that time to hold a KLB.
This was conveyed by the former member of the FIFA Executive Committee in response to the insistence on holding a KLB which was finally approved by PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan.
But unfortunately, said Dali Tahir, the PSSI KLB in the Nurdin Halid era did not in fact change the Indonesian football federation for the better.
"Sadly, PSSI can't even get up. I don't want to accuse this time of being the same as 2010-2011. But, as a parent who has been involved in domestic and foreign football for 40 years, just reminds PSSI that they have experienced something like that," he said.
"If you use the old adage 'A donkey doesn't fall in the same hole twice'. It means, no matter how stupid people are, they will not repeat their previous mistakes," said Dali Tahir.
Thus the information about when the PSSI KLB will be held.
