Hundreds Of Victims Of Kebayoran Lama Fire Evacuated To BPS Office

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Administration has evacuated 200 residents affected by the fire in Kebayoran Lama to the local Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Office area.

"As many as 200 people were displaced due to the impact of the fire on Kebayoran Lama Street, South Sukabumi, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta," said Acting (Plt.) Kebon Jeruk Sub-district Head Joko Suparno in Jakarta, Sunday, October 30.

Joko detailed that hundreds of people were 50 family heads (KK) affected by the fire which engulfed six houses, 13 rented houses, and 40 stalls (junk and wood) with an area of ​​1,470 square meters.

The Kebon Jeruk District and its staff have provided a number of refugee posts as temporary residences for affected residents.

In addition to the West Jakarta BPS Office, the Kebon Jeruk District has prepared the Asy Syukur Mosque which is close to the Medika Permata Hijau Hospital for residents affected by the fire.

Until now, the local government has distributed various aids for residents affected by the fire.

"Alhamdulillah, everyone is safe, later we will send 200 boxes of ready-to-eat food aid," he said.

Based on information from the Instagram account @humasjakfire, the deployment of fire extinguishers was 41 units in a combined area (25 units for West Jakarta and 16 units for South Jakarta) and 225 personnel.

The fire incident in a densely populated house on Kebayoran Lama Street, West Jakarta, occurred on Sunday afternoon at around 12.00 WIB.

A total of 28 patients at the Medika Permata Hijau Hospital were also evacuated to a safer place from the smoke from the fire.

It is known, the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the police, but it is suspected that an electrical short circuit in one of the rented houses.
