PKS Expresses Legowo If AHY Becomes Anies' Candidate
JAKARTA - PKS stated that it is ready to accept if the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhyono alias AHY is elected as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) accompanying Anies Baswedan for the 2024 presidential election.
PKS also appreciated the meeting held by AHY and the General Chairperson of NasDem Surya Paloh, yesterday. Chairman of the PKS DPP Mardani Ali Sera, admitted that his party did not object to the meeting of the two figures to continue deliberation.
"PKS supports all, legowo, and open mind. The interests of the nation must be above all," said Mardani, Thursday, October 27.
PKS, which is planned to partner with NasDem and Democrats, hopes that the coalition formed as well as the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, will be able to win the 2024 General Election. According to Mardani, the legowo attitude can bring blessings of victory.
"Winning 2024 which is full of blessings, starts with a mutual attitude. Blessings, God willing," he said.
Regarding the cadre Ahmad Heryawan (Aher) who was proposed to be Anies' vice presidential candidate, Mardani revealed, this is still being discussed. He reiterated that PKS is ready to agree whatever the decision will be.
"We will discuss everything carefully and ready to cooperate. Not only for PKS, but for all parties," he said. It is known that the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party DPP Surya Paloh and the Chairman of the DPP Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) again held a meeting to stay in touch at Wisma Nusantara, Jakarta, this afternoon, Wednesday, October 26.
AHY did not explain in detail whether he and Surya Paloh discussed the presidential candidate accompanying Anies Baswedan or other things. But he made sure he was ready to carry out his duties under any circumstances and anywhere.
"Yes, we personally continue to prepare ourselves, whatever tasks we have to carry out in time, whatever it is, wherever it is, we must be ready," said AHY.
Including the question of vice president, AHY said he was prejudiced about the compatibility with the criteria that Anies wanted. He stated that he continued to strive and prepare himself.
"Yes, if I just want to be prejudiced, have good prejudices about what we continue to strive for, while continuing to prepare myself and it's all fate," he said.
"We can only prepare ourselves and pick up our destiny, what we clearly agree here for Indonesia is better, the community is more prosperous, we must be united first, we must be solid. From there we can present solutions that are important for our country," continued AHY.
AHY said that currently, the Democrats are still focused on strengthening the coalition axis with NasDem and PKS.
"What is clear now is that we just focus on how these three of us, NasDem, Democrats, PKS, can be more unified in the sense that earlier their thoughts, views," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the date of the coalition's declaration, AHY emphasized that the three parties were creating moments until a truly solid coalition was formed.
"Then if many ask when, of course when this will see momentum, waiting for momentum. Often the momentum is created, not just awaited, that's why we don't want to be in a hurry, hurry because the better one is really solid and really after that there is only going forward and running. It's not stopping or going backwards," he said.
