Ambisikan Add Flight Route Tahun Ini, Pelita Air Tunggu Tambahan Pesawat

PT Pelita Air Service plans to add domestic routes this year. However, the plan to add new routes can be realized if the Pertamina subsidiary airline gets a new aircraft first.

Pelita Air President Director Dendy Kurniawan said the opening of new routes would target areas that have high demand, such as Surabaya to Medan.

"Actually, if you ask about the route, it's easy to guess, I don't need secrets too, surely we will enter big cities, we are now Bali, Jogja, next time we will definitely be caught, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Pekanbaru, Medan, earlier called Padang," he told reporters quoted Friday, October 21.

However, Dendy admitted that he could not determine which route would be added first. Currently, he said, his party will still weigh in terms of demand and market profits in part of the route ahead.

"Only which one will try first, we'll see the market too," he said.

Dendy also emphasized that Pelita Air will focus on domestic route services. This is in line with the order of SOE Minister Erick Thohir to optimize domestic routes.

Furthermore, Dendy explained, the possibility of opening the route could be carried out this year. Provided, there are five additional Airbus A-320 aircraft in the near future. However, he did not reveal how far the process of adding the aircraft had gone.

Dendy said, Pelita Air only operates one type, namely the Airbus A-320 aircraft. The goal is to be more efficient.

"Depending on whether we can get the plane or not, we hope to get five earlier, if of course we can get 5 of course we will add routes," he said.

Dendy said that as a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero), his party received a mandate from shareholders, including the ministry, to grow faster. Related to this, plans for the next 5 years have been prepared.

"So after this year, we will add 10 planes every year. In 2023 10 planes, 2024, 10 more aircraft will continue to be like that," he explained.
