The Figure Who Claimed Satoshi Nakamoto Had LOST In Court, Must Pay A Fine Of Rp. 5.9 Billion To Hodlonauts
JAKARTA The existence of the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, is still shrouded in mystery to this moment. Due to his absence, not a few have emerged to the public and claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto. On the other hand, the figure who created the first cryptocurrency is not yet known whether it is an individual or a group of people.
One that claims to be the creator of Bitcoin is a computer scientist from Australia, his name is Craig Wright. The scientist was forced to clash with Twitter users who used Hodlonaut's pseudonym account at the court.
According to a CryptoPotato report, Hodlonaut has officially won a lawsuit against Craig Wright. Because of this Wright had to pay a loss of 383 thousand US dollars (equivalent to Rp5.9 billion) to Hodlonaut.
According to a court ruling, Norwegian judge Helen Engebrigtsen stated that Hodlonaut had sufficient factual basis to claim that Wright had lied and cheated in his bid to prove he was Satoshi Nakamoto.
The Twitter user stated that in 2019 Wright was a "fraud" and a "scammer," in a series of tweets. Hodlonaut believes Wright lied about his identity as the creator of Bitcoin.
Hodlonaut then sued Wright in Norway, ahead of the UK's defamation lawsuit from the computer scientist. He asked the court to decide that their tweets were protected by free speech. According to CoinDesk, the judge's decision found the characterization of the Hodlonaut about Wright was justified.
The court believes that 'fraud' or 'cheating' in this context means "a person who is something else than what he claims. 'Fals' has the same meaning: 'unlegally,' 'false,''something else than what he pretended to be,' wrote Engebrigtsen. "'Scammer' must be understood in the same way, in the sense of 'fraud' or 'fraud'.
Hodlonauts will not be required to pay compensation claims and are not responsible for the damage the tweet may have caused. Meanwhile, Wright has been ordered to pay Twitter user the number mentioned above.
