The Former Mayor Of Yogyakarta Was Charged With Issuing An IMB For Royal Kedathon And Aston Malioboro Apartments

YOGYAKARTA - Former Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti underwent the first trial of a corruption case which was held online at the Yogyakarta City District Court, Wednesday, October 19. Haryadi's indictment was to accept bribes for the issuance of two building permits (IMB).The two corruption charges against the former Mayor of Yogyakarta during the two periods were the issuance of the IMB for Royal Kedathon Apartments and the IMB Hotel Iki Wae or Aston Malioboro. Both are located in the philosophical axis cultural heritage area.Apart from Haryadi, the indictment also mentions the role of two employees within the Yogyakarta City Government in the issuance of the IMB, namely Nurwidi Hartana who served as Head of the Yogyakarta City Investment and One Stop Service Service (DPMPTSP) and Triyanto Budi Yuwono as Haryadi's personal secretary." “ Triyanto received a special order or task to coordinate the management of IMB permits between regional apparatus organizations (OPD) within the Yogyakarta City Government and private parties who applied for permits," said Public Prosecutor (JPU) Rudi Dwi Prastyono when reading the indictment quoted from Antara, Wednesday, October 19.Both of them are now defendants and are being prosecuted separately. From the issuance of the IMB proposed by the two different companies, the defendant received money amounting to 27,258 US dollars, consisting of 20,450 US dollars received by Haryadi through Triyanto and 6,808 US dollars received by Nurwidi Hartana. The defendant also received Rp275 million, consisting of Rp170 million received by Haryadi and Rp105 million received by Nurwidi. In addition to money, the defendant Haryadi received a black Volkswagen Srirocco car in 2010 and an electric bicycle. In the indictment, it is known that the IMB licensing process for the Royal Kedhaton Apartment proposed by PT Java Orient Properti began in early January 2019 with a pre-licensed application for the issuance of an apartment IMB with a height of 40 meters. However, the licensing process was hampered by various obstacles, including the height of the building which exceeded the rules in the cultural heritage area and other technical documents that did not meet the requirements, so it needed improvement. In the process, the defendant Haryadi had issued a recommendation letter to increase the height of the apartment building to 40 meters. For the various obstacles faced by the applicant, the defendant Haryadi stated that he promised to be able to help while saying that the applicant should not forget to thank him.The IMB for the apartment was then issued on May 23, 2022 after receiving a technical recommendation letter from the Yogyakarta City Public Works, Housing and Settlement Areas.Meanwhile, the process of issuing the IMB for the Iki Wae Hotel or Aston Malioboro by PT Guyub Sengini Group is almost the same because the location is in a cultural heritage area. The IMB for the hotel was issued on May 23, 2022 and Haryadi received Rp150 million, while Nurwidi received Rp50 million.Haryadi, who was undergoing trial wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, chose not to make an exception to the charges filed."For the sake of law, there are several things that we will follow up on during the examination of witnesses later," said Haryadi's legal adviser, Suyuti, Muh Fahri.Meanwhile, the defendant's choice not to file an exception, continued Fahri, was intended so that the trial could run faster, cheaper, and simpler." “ We will only present five witnesses but cannot be revealed at this time. We have prepared evidence," he said. The trial of the corruption crime was led by Chief Justice Muh. Djauhar Setyadi and will continue on Tuesday (25/10) with the agenda of examining witnesses from the public prosecutor. The prosecutor plans to present around 30 to 35 witnesses.
