ALMI, WHO Went Missing For More Than A Week In The RI-Malaysia Border Forest, Has Yet To Be Found
JAKARTA - The search for Alwi (53), a resident of Majang Island, who has been missing since last Wednesday, October 12 in the forest of Kekurak Village, Badau District, the Indonesia-Malaysia border area of Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, is still being carried out.
"The search is still being carried out, but the obstacles to forest areas are quite extensive and the weather conditions are often rainy," said Badau Police Chief AKP Surarso, contacted by ANTARA, in Putussibau Kapuas Hulu, Wednesday, October 19, quoted by Antara.
It is known that Alwi disappeared in the forest of Kekurak Village, Badau District, when he and Arpansi (local residents) searched for bubu pole wood (fishing equipment) on Wednesday (12/10), using a canoe.
At that time, Arpansi first went home, while Alwi was still in the forest until late at night and had not returned home.
Surarso conveyed that the community together with the TNI and the local Police carried out searches scattered to make tents in the forest.
According to him, from the information gathered by the police, Alwi (the victim) had previously been lost in the forest, but was always found.
Surarso said, until now there have been no signs of clues around the location of the search at that location.
"It is strongly suspected that the victim got lost, for other indications while there was none," he explained.
Meanwhile, the victim's grandson, Danny, said that various efforts to reduce forests and traditional rituals had been carried out in the search for his grandfather (Alwi), but had not yielded any results.
"We will still carry out the search, assisted by the people of Kekurak Village and also the TNI, Polri, we hope that grandfather will soon be found regardless of condition," said Danny.
He also asked for prayers and support from all parties to make it easier in the search process, besides that it is hoped that there will be assistance from the SAR Team and other related parties.
