Handling 11 Cases Of Sexual Harassment Involved Children Throughout 2022, Bandung Police Calls For Pornography Effects

West Java - Bandung Police asked parents to supervise their children from pornographic shows to prevent sexual deviation behavior. Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol Aswin Sipayung said that throughout 2022 his party had handled 11 cases of sexual harassment involving children.

"Parents who have children can see and know about social media or the internet to accompany their children when accessing websites, so parents can control them for site restrictions seen by children their age," said Aswin at the Bandung Polrestabes, Bandung City, West Java (West Java), quoted from Antara, Tuesday 18 October.

Of the 11 cases, according to him, one case of sexual harassment that is now being handled, namely the case of a 12-year-old child sexually abusing two victims aged 10 and 12 years. The case, he said, was reported on September 23, 2022.

According to him, the two victims were playing friends of the underage perpetrator. Based on the examination, the perpetrator admitted that he had carried out the action three times.

Aswin said the perpetrator threatened his victims with a knife while committing the abuse.

"The origin is that the perpetrator has the intention of sexually harassing the suspect against the victim because of his habit of seeing pornographic videos on his friend's cellphone," said Aswin.

In addition, he ensured that the police also provided psychological assistance to the victims in accordance with the Child Protection Act.

"And now we don't show it here or we publish it (the perpetrator), but we secure it in a special place with friends from the Child Protection Unit," he said.
