Indonesian Consulate General In Istanbul Promotes Riau Islands Investment Opportunities To Turkish Entrepreneurs
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Consulate General (Consul General) in Istanbul, Turkey, Imam Asy'ari promoted investment opportunities in the Riau Islands to Turkish entrepreneurs.
Head of the Riau Islands One Stop Service (PTSP) Hasfarizal Handra stated that the promotion of investment opportunities in Riau Islands was conveyed by Imam Asy'ari during a business forum in Turkey which was attended by Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad and 150 European businessmen.
"According to Imam Asy'ari, the Riau Islands, especially the Free Trade and Free Port Areas (KPBPB) of Batam, Bintan, and Karimun, have potential areas that can quickly develop if the design of this area is integrated, considering that the strategic route in the Malacca Strait is a shipping and international trade route. This area can certainly be like the Galataport area in Istanbul," said Hasfarizal in his written statement in Batam, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 18.
Hasfarizal said, responding to what was conveyed by the Indonesian Consul General in Istanbul, Turkey, Ansar Ahmad said he would seize every opportunity that could improve the economy in the Riau Islands.
"Of course, this opportunity must be synergized in economic development," he said.
The Galataport area in Turkey is an economic tourism area with the provision of an international standard port. This area is a source of state income, especially from the tourism sector.

Hasfarizal added that the Indonesian Consul General in Istanbul is serious enough to promote Riau Islands.
This is evidenced that to open this investment opportunity the Consul General has involved at least 150 businessmen in Turkey.
"They will see a picture of the potential for the development of investment areas in Riau Islands, and we must be ready to support all the ease of investment," he said.
