Juventus Tekuk Torino With A Score Of 1-0 At The Stadio Olimpico Grande

JAKARTA - The only goal scored by Dusan Vlahovic helped Juventus win 1-0 over Torino in the famous Derby della Mole match in the 10th week of the Italian League at the Stadio Olimpico Grande, Torino, Saturday local time (Sunday WIB).

Vlahovic scored his sixth in Serie A this season when he broke the deadlock in the 74th minute using Danilo's pass in a corner.

Victory led Juve to sit seventh with 16 points, while Torino was 11th with 11 points, according to the Italian League's official website.

Juventus entered the Derby della Mole with the ambition to end the bad performance that led to defeat in the previous two matches, but the Old Lady's performance was not convincing enough throughout the first half.

Juve actually had a golden opportunity to open the scoring in the 34th minute, but goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic was able to stop three successive attempts from Vlahovic, Manuel Locatelli, and Adrien Rabiot.

After the first half ended goalless, Juve came close to breaking the deadlock six minutes after the second half's follow-up, but Vlahovic's shot was cleared by Perr Schuurs while Locatelli's strike over the ball ended up being parried by Milinkovic-Savic.

Five minutes later, Torino, who struggled to penetrate his guest defense, forced Nikola Vlasic to conduct a long-range attempt which unfortunately could still be thwarted by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

In the 62nd minute, another golden opportunity came to Juventus, but Moise Kean wasted the situation with a bad finish.

Juventus' goal was finally born in the 74th minute through a corner that Danilo could continue with a header to the far post area where Vlahovic stood free without control to net the ball into the home net. Torino's efforts to catch up were fruitless until dispersal.

Furthermore Juventus will host Empoli on Friday, October 21 next week, while Torino the day after that will return to play at home to face Spezia.
