The Ministry Of Communication And Information Provides Digital Literacy Training For A Number Of Teachers In Ende
The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) provides digital literacy training to a number of teachers in Ende Regency and Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. "This training is part of the government's efforts to improve digital literacy in teachers," said the Director of Informatics Empowerment of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto, in a written statement quoted by Antara, in Jakarta, Saturday, October 15. Based on the Indonesian National Digital Literacy Index Survey organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information Center in 2021, it is stated that Indonesia is still in the category moderate'' with numbers 3.49 of 5.00. In responding to this, the Ministry of Communication and Information organizes The Digital Literacy Workshop' with material based on four main pillars of digital literacy, namely digital skills, digital ethics, digital culture, and digital security. Head of Service (Kadis) Ende Regency Communication and Communications, Supriyanto, said that the increasing number of cyber and hoax crimes is due to the public only knowing how to use the internet without understanding its use ethics. The government must collaborate with the public and other stakeholders so that the values of truth and ethics can be carried out without leaving cultural values in using digital technology," said Supriyanto. An influencer in NTT, Indriastuty, said the habit of wanting to be considered the first to know about something is toxic in society. This makes the public less likely to verify information in order to quickly disseminate that information.
There are six ways to ward off hoaxes in the community, namely to be aware of provocative news titles, to watch the news sites that are read, check the authenticity of photos or videos that are spread, filter before sharing, follow antihoax sites, and don't stop spreading information about how to ward off hoaxes. Digital literacy activist, Indriyatno Banyumurti, said that there are still many Indonesians who are still not ready to face the digital era, especially in terms of ethics. "A total of 210 million Indonesians have been connected to the internet and a third of the lives of Indonesians are in the digital world. But, it turns out that Indonesians still occupy the lowest rank, as the most disrespectful netizens in Southeast Asia," said Indriyatno.
