Regarding The Prohibition Of Dog Animals In The CFD Area, Azas: Dishub Makes Dong Kaya Rambu Abroad

The polemic of the prohibition on bringing pets to Motor Vehicle Free Day (HBKB) or car free day (CFD) continues to emerge. The prohibition is based on the Decree (SK) of the Head of the Transportation Service No: e- 0077 of 2022 concerning Technical Guidelines for the Implementation of HBKB in Jakarta which was issued on June 22, 2022.

"If it is prohibited, the Department of Transportation will make signs like abroad. You can't bring dogs, you can't bring animals. Don't just do it," said the Head of the Jakarta City Citizens Forum (Fakta) and representatives of Dog Lovers, Azas Tigor Nainggolan to VOI, Friday, October 14.

Previously, Azas Tigor protested the ban on bringing dogs in a car free day (CFD) in Jakarta. Azas was directly reprimanded by officers when carrying dogs while walking in the CFD area on Jalan Thamrin and Sudirman last Sunday, October 9.

"Yesterday, many Dog Lovers also experienced it, there were 2 people who also contacted me because I didn't know. This is proof that the (SK Kadishub) ban was never socialized, it was never communicated to the public," he explained.

If he made a ban, Azas said, the DKI Kadishub should have made a sign with a picture related to the prohibition in the CFD area.

"You shouldn't be allowed to bring a dog in a car free day (CFD). There are no signs, how do people know if it's not allowed (to be banned)," he concluded.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, admitted that the ban on carrying pets during car free day (CFD) in Jakarta had been in effect since last July.

"Based on the actual decree, this has been around since July. And socialization has been carried out. There are even prohibition zones, red zones, yellow zones, green zones for street vendors. Then we carry out surveillance, even people who check music are too loud, that's also prohibited," Syafrin told reporters, Wednesday, October 12.

Syafrin said, these prohibitions were decided from the results of the evaluation of the motor vehicle free day team (HBKB). The material that is an evaluation material departs from public reports and complaints, including carrying pets.

"Because there are several people who are active in HBKB when they see pets, usually immediately someone is shocked and afraid. This is what then the results of the evaluation are declared prohibited in activities because tens of thousands of people are active in HBKB," he continued.
