Yakin Indonesia Bisa Selamat Dari Resessi Dan Stagflasi, Bos Pasar Modal OJK: Berkaca Pada Keberhasilan Mengatasi Challenges Saat Pandemi

JAKARTA - Chief Executive of the Capital Market Supervisory of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Inarno Djajadi believes that Indonesia will be able to survive economic turmoil, including from the threat of recession and global stagnation risk, through synergy, collaboration, and close cooperation.

"My optimism is based on the fact that we have successfully overcome the huge challenges of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic," said Inarno at the Capital Market Summit an Expo (CMSE) 2022 which was monitored online, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 14.

He realized that the current global economic situation was filled with uncertainty, which is not only Indonesia facing this, but also many other countries that are not necessarily as strong as Indonesia.

Global uncertainty occurs as amid the challenges of the struggle to get out of the COVID-19 pandemic, countries around the world are also faced with new risks that are much more complex than ever.

This risk arises from geopolitical tensions that have caused war and supply chain disruptions, resulting in a spike in the prices of various commodities.

However, amid the increasing volatility of global financial markets with potential spillovers or overflows to the domestic financial market, said Inarno, the government remains optimistic about Indonesia's economic growth.

"Until now, the domestic economy is maintained and has even grown by five percent during the last three consecutive quarters," he said.

Therefore, in order to maintain the momentum of national economic recovery, he emphasized that OJK has always been proactive and collaborative in issuing various policies that support the efforts of the Indonesian government in maintaining and encouraging domestic economic stability.
