Support Zero Accident Efforts And Quality Improve Railway Facilities, PT KAI Gandeng GMF Aero Asia
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is collaborating with PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF Aero Asia) to treat railway facilities.
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo said the establishment of a collaboration between KAI and GMF would further strengthen the rail facilities maintenance system so that it remains reliable.
"Hopefully the MoU can provide added value for KAI and GMF. This collaboration is also expected to be able to support efforts to run trains with zero accidents and improve the quality of train facilities," said Didiek in his statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 12.
The signing of the KAI Memorandum of Undersanatding (MoU) with GMF on a Cooperation Plan for the Utilization of Facilities and Resources in Rataging Equipment and the Digitization of Maintenance was carried out in Bandung, West Java.
He said this MoU was intended as a commitment and basis for KAI and GMF to carry out an assessment of a cooperation plan that included the use of the GMF Bonded Logistics Center, marketing cooperation by utilizing increased Domestic Content Level (TKDN), repair and maintenance of locomotive machine components, and digitization of facilities management.
According to him, maintenance of train facilities is very important for train operations to extend machine life and mitigate component damage.
The function of maintained and optimal facilities is an important aspect to improve the safety of train travel.
Didiek revealed that the MoU is also in line with the current digital transformation of KAI echoing. The hope is that digitizing the management of facilities can increase efficiency, accuracy, and minimize errors in caring for train facilities.
He said, KAI's initiative to cooperate with GMF is an effort to strengthen the synergy of SOEs, where GMF is a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia with a long experience in the field of maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft that are required to have high precision and precision.
Meanwhile, GMF President Director Andi Fahrurrozi said that the expansion of market share in the non-existent segment was GMF's efforts to realize sustainable improvements after the pandemic.
Cooperation with KAI is expected to be the next portfolio for GMF in its expansional steps in industrial solutions services.
By bringing the safety standards that have been applied to aircraft, GMF hopes that the services provided can contribute to improving the quality of railways in the country.
"Hopefully GMF can be one of the pillars for KAI in providing the best service for the people of Indonesia and hopefully the trust given by KAI can support the recovery that is currently GMF is fierce," said Andi.
