AHY: Democrats Continue To Interaction With NasDem-PKS, The Hope Of A Coalition Of Change
TANGERANG - Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono alias AHY said his party continues to communicate with NasDeM and PKS. The hope is that soon a coalition will be formed called the Change Coalition.
"We Democrats continue to interact with NasDem and PKS. We hope that a coalition will be formed called the 'Change Coalition'," AHY said in Tangerang, Monday, October 10.
However, AHY said that his party had not yet made a final decision regarding the Democrat-NasDem-PKS axis. He admitted that he was still trying to form a coalition to face the 2024 presidential election.
However, if the Change Coalition is really realized, the fulfillment of the presidential threshold of 20 percent so that it can carry presidential and vice presidential candidates will also be fulfilled. From there, he said, the performance of the coalition to fight together for the victory of the five-year democratic party could begin.
"If the three parties unite, it is enough to meet the president of the threshold of 20 percent. So the main indicator is to work and fight together," he added.
Furthermore, AHY said the main focus of his party is currently conducting intensive consolidation to finalize its goals with NasDem-PKS.
Meanwhile, within the internal party, AHY admitted that the Democrats are currently compiling a list of figures who can be representatives and candidates to be jointly promoted in the 2024 presidential election.
"Talks are getting more intensive and hopefully when there will be opportunities, we will also want to win president in 2024. If we win, we want change," he said.
