After The Mayor Of Malang, His Wife And Children Are Now Also Exposed To COVID-19

MALANG - After Malang Mayor Sutiaji tested positive for COVID-19, the wife and child of the number one person in the Malang City Government were also reported to be positive for the corona virus.

Head of Public Relations of the Malang City Government, Nur Widianto, said Widayati Sutiaji, and her first child, were confirmed to have been exposed to COVID-19, after getting the results of the COVID-19 swab test.

"Yes, that's right, Mother (Widayati), and the first child (confirmed positive for COVID-19)," said Widianto in Malang City, East Java, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 2.

In addition, the Regional Secretary of Malang City, Wasto, was also reported to have been confirmed as being infected with the virus which first spread in Wuhan, China. In his daily life, Wasto carries out many daily agendas with the Mayor of Malang.

For the record, before testing positive for COVID-19, Wasto underwent a rapid test for COVID-19 twice, with reactive results. Wasto is also reportedly being treated at a referral hospital for handling COVID-19 in Malang City.

"For the Regional Secretary, we have just been informed that it is positive (COVID-19)," said Widianto.

On Tuesday, December 1, the Mayor of Malang Sutiaji, through his Instagram account, sam.sutiaji, stated that he and his family were confirmed positive for the Corona virus, based on the results of laboratory tests conducted by the Labkesda Health Office Malang City.

ASNs in the Malang City Government have also undergone a COVID-19 swab test to find out if there are other cases after the Mayor of Malang was confirmed to have been exposed to the virus that first spread in Wuhan, China.

Before the swab test was carried out, ASNs in the Malang City Government also underwent a rapid test for COVID-19 twice. From the results of two rapid tests for each ASN, there were 15 people with reactive results.

The ASNs who are declared reactive, communicate intensively with the Mayor of Malang in their daily lives.

To date, in the city of Malang, there have been a total of 2,295 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of the total, 2,052 people were declared cured, 236 people were reported dead, and the rest were still being treated.
