KUPANG - The people of Setbot Village, North Molo District, South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province have complained of dizziness since five hotspots that appeared at once accompanied by the smell of sulfur from the Naimitis hills."Many people have complained of dizziness since the emergence of five hotspots from the Naumitis hills, many people also have headaches due to inhaling the strong smell of sulfur," said Head of Setbot Village, Zet Besie when contacted by Antara from Kupang, Monday, October 10.In the event of an east wind, the smell of sulfur and the smell of kerosene is felt by residents in the residential area of Setbot Village, which is only 100 meters from the location where five hotspots emerged from the Naumutis hills.According to him, the public could not avoid a puff of smoke from the Naimutis hill because the residential locations were very close to the location where the five hotspots appeared. Residents who complained of headaches and dizziness were immediately handled by nurses and midwives who had been serving in Setbot Village.Even though there is a phenomenon of the emergence of five hotspots from the slopes of Naimutis hill, it does not have an impact on clean water sources for consumption for 410 families or 1,685 people in Setbot Village."The clean water source for people's consumption is still safe, there is no taste of the smell of sulfur so it is safe for residents to consume," he said.According to him, the Setbot Village Government is looking for a location that is considered safe for the community to evacuate temporarily if the five hotspots continue to increase."We did this to anticipate the worst things such as the eruption as a result of the emergence of the five hotspots," said Zet Besie.Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of South Central Timor, Johny Army Kopay, who was contacted separately, said that he was not aware of the occurrence of five hotspots in Setbot Village because he was still on duty outside the area.
