Encourages The Achievement Of Green Mobility, Sinar Mas Land Present Autonomous Electric Vehicles In The BSD Area

JAKARTA - Sinar Mas Land further emphasized its commitment to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This is evidenced by various innovations to develop a green-energy smart city that is more environmentally friendly and sustainable, including the operation of the first Autonomous Electric Vehicles (AV) in Indonesia in the BSD City area.

This initiative is a continuation of the strategic partnership between Sinar Mas Land and Mitsubishi Corporation, supported by funding from JICA, Mitsubishi Corporation along with MACNICA Inc. which has successfully conducted the first phase of the Navya Autonom Shuttle trial at QBig BSD City from May to July.

Furthermore, the trial will continue in the BSD Green Office Park (GOP) area on August 27, 2022, until January 5, 2023.

"This development of the unmanned electric vehicle ecosystem strengthens the spirit to realize Sinar Mas Land's commitment to answer solutions to vehicles that are low in carbon emissions and encourage sustainable life," said Sinar Mas Land's Chief Digital Tech Ecosystem & Development, Irawan Harahap in a release received in Jakarta.

The presence of this technology is in line with the green vision of the GOP area which has been certified as the first Green Mark District in Indonesia from the Building Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore.

This effort also received the attention of the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi because it was considered capable of realizing future transportation for the development of sustainable smart cities in the country.

At the inauguration of the AV trial, Budi expressed his hope that this latest technological innovation could be exhibited at the G20 Summit which will be held in Bali in November 2022.

"We witnessed this AV innovation coming with a smart technology feature, besides that this smart transportation is also an alternative for new modes of transportation to serve people's mobility," added Irawan.

Irawan also said that the sophistication of this AV feature reflects the lifestyle that they will present at BSD City in the transformation of independent cities as smart integrated digital city, especially in the Digital Hub ecosystem which is full of digital technology activities.

The Navy Autonom Shuttle has an electric drive and a battery pack with a capacity of 33 kWh that can last for 9 hours. The electric vehicle has a passenger capacity of 15 people, with a distribution of 11 sitting and 4 standing.

The Avla Autonom Shuttle is equipped with various sensors ranging from the use of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems), and the LIDAR (Light Radar) sensor combined with a high-resolution camera for big data analysis, which will then be processed by a computer that has high specs embedded in the car.

This autonomous electric transportation can detect, track and classify barriers around in real time to determine optimal track and speed profile, including auto-acceleration, steering and braking capabilities.
