Bruk! School Roof In Jember Ambruk, BPBD Establish An Emergency Tenda To Learn To Teach

JATIM - An emergency tent was built at SDN Pengang 7, Jember Regency, East Java (East Java). Development so that teaching and learning activities (KBM) continue to run after the roof of the school building collapsed.

"We together with the Jember Police and volunteers set up two emergency tents for learning activities and one tent unit from the Jember Police, bringing a total of three emergency tents," said Secretary of the Jember Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Heru Widagdo in Jember, East Java, Sunday 9 October.

The roof of the school building in Pengun Village, Sumberbaru District collapsed on Saturday, October 8. As a result, four classrooms were heavily damaged.

Luckily at the time of the incident, teaching and learning activities did not exist due to the Maulid holiday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The incident did not cause any casualties.

"Information we received that children at SDN Pengang 7 will take the exam on Monday (October 10), so emergency tents for KBM have been prepared as a substitute for emergency classes," he said.

The three emergency tents were erected in the courtyard of SDN Undang 7 which is planned to be used for students in grades 1 to class 4, because the classroom was heavily damaged by the rubble of the school roof. The number of students at SDN Pengang 7 was 175 people.

He explained that the Jember BPBD Operational Control Center (Pusdalop) recommended doing community service work to clean up collapsed material debris, then building construction, distribution of water reservoirs for emergency toilets, and making emergency toilets (MCK) washing.

"BPBD Jember has also distributed logistical assistance in the form of two food packages, 72 stem soap, 24 bottles of liquid soap, and two tarpaulins," he said.
