Distribution Of The Makin Jumbo Loans, Until August Capai Rp148.8 Trillion
JAKARTA The existence of peer-to-peer lending institutions aka online loans (pinjol) is increasingly significant in the financial services industry in Indonesia.
Citing data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on Sunday, October 9, it is known that until August 2022, funds have been disbursed amounting to Rp148.8 trillion.
This amount is distributed to 124 million borrower customers since January 2022 through 102 official loan institutions registered and licensed by the OJK.
It was stated that in the January 2022 period, pinjol distributed funds of no less than Rp. 13.8 trillion to 13.5 million borrowers. Then in February, Rp. 16.5 trillion was distributed in February to 12.8 million borrowers, March Rp. 23 trillion to 17 million borrowers, April Rp. 17.9 trillion to 13.7 borrowers.
Then, May Rp18.6 trillion to 18 million borrowers, June Rp20.6 trillion borrowers to 17.1 million borrowers, July Rp18.9 trillion 15.5 million borrowers, and the August period Rp19.2 trillion to 14.3 million borrowers.
Meanwhile, the remaining value of the outstanding which is currently recorded is IDR 47.2 trillion for around 17 million borrowers.
Previously, OJK through the Investment Alert Task Force (SWI) in September 2022 again closed 105 illegal lending platforms and 18 entities that made investment offers without a permit that could potentially harm the public.
The head of the Investment Alert Task Force, Tongam L. Tobing, said the findings were an effort to prevent and handle before complaints were made from victims.
"We take this action based on data browsing or monitoring investment offering activities that are currently rampant in the community as well as through social media, websites, and youtubes conducted through big data centers for investment alert applications," Tongam said in the middle of this week.
