KPK Endus Allegations Of Influence Witnesses In The Lukas Enembe Case
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detected allegations that there are parties who have influenced witnesses in the case of Papua Governor Lukas Enembe so as not to fulfill the summons. They were reminded to stop their actions.
"We also remind anyone that laws are prohibited to influence every witness so that they do not comply with law enforcement calls," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in a written statement, Friday, October 7.
"Because of this, of course there are legal sanctions," he continued.
Furthermore, Ali reminded those who were summoned by investigators to cooperate. Their information is needed to make light of Lukas' actions.
"KPK urges all parties who are summoned as witnesses in this case to cooperate to attend the next schedule," he said.
Previously, the KPK said it would forcibly pick up the wife and children of Lukas Enembe, Yulce Wenda and Astract Bona Timoramo Enembe. Pick-up will be carried out if he is not present at the call to be made after being absent on Wednesday, October 5.
Lukas Enembe was named a suspect by the KPK. The case that ensnared him has not been detailed.
He will actually be questioned on Monday, September 26 at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. However, this examination was not carried out because Lukas admitted that he was sick and could not provide information.
Furthermore, the KPK will again carry out summons that have not been informed for sure. Lukas was asked to cooperate in fulfilling the investigator's summons because his statement was needed to clarify the allegations of corruption that occurred.
