The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights For The Form Of The Task Force To Increase Foreign Investment In The Tourism Sector, What Are Its Duties?
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) has formed a Monitoring and Supervision Task Force for the Implementation of Immigration Visas and Stay Permits.
Menkumham Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly said the formation was an effort to increase foreign investment and foreign exchange from the tourism sector.
"The formation of the task force is a follow-up to President Joko Widodo's direction," Yasonna said in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Thursday, October 6.
Some of the main tasks of the task force are monitoring and supervising service compliance in all technical implementing units, in accordance with statutory regulations.
In addition, the Task Force is also tasked with coordinating immigration services, evaluating the ease and acceleration of residence permit services, and taking the necessary actions against officials or employees who do not carry out service acceleration.
Next, the Task Force examined the compliance of officials suspected of violating regulations, providing recommendations to the Director General of Immigration to impose sanctions on officials or employees who violate the policy. Finally, the Task Force must report the progress of the implementation of the tasks to the Director General of Immigration.
As stated by President Jokowi, the world condition is not doing well in 2023, Yasonna said that all levels of government must prepare themselves and do their best in order to be able to get through this condition.
"The president asks us to provide the best public services. Because, we are competing closely in bringing in investment from abroad," he said.
In line with Yasonna, Acting Director General of Immigration Widodo Ekatjahna said the Monitoring and Supervision Task Force for the Implementation of Immigration Visas and Stay Permits was formed to ensure internal compliance with all immigration policies in providing visa services and residence permits.
"This is a good will in following up on the President's directives during a limited meeting so that immigration immediately makes a total change," said Widodo.
