Denying The News Of Klausul Release Haaland To Real Madrid In 2024, Guardiola: That's Not True!

JAKARTA - Pep Guardiola has denied reports about Erling Haaland who has a clause to join Real Madrid on his contract.

Former Los Blancos player who is also the former president of Malaga, Fernando Sanz claims that Haaland has a clause allowing him to leave Santiago Bernabeu in 2024.

"The information I got was that there was a clause out for Haaland in its second year, and what was strange was a very favorable condition compared to the others for one club, namely Real Madrid," said Lorenzo Sanz's son, former president of Real Madrid.

However, there is a different release clause included in Haaland's contract at Manchester City, as reported by MARCA in July 2022.

The release clause in Manchester City is 200 million euros in 2024 and 175 million euros in 2025.

In a press conference after the match against Copenhagen in the Champions League, Guardiola immediately denied the news.

"That's not true! He doesn't have a special release clause for Real Madrid or any other team. That's not true, what can I say? I feel he's very happy here," said Guardiola.

The Manchester City manager also explained why he replaced Haaland in Wednesday night's game.

"He plays too much, the game is under control and Cole Palmer is a very good player and he really wants to play. If the game is tight, Erling will continue (match)," continued former Barcelona coach.

Haaland left the playing field in the first half after scoring twice, but the Spaniard said it didn't give him a break.

"It's not about giving the players a break. We have a squad of 20 players, if you play with just 11 players, you don't have 20 players. The others, when you need them, don't work."
