Even Though Liga 1 Was Stopped, PSSI Ensured That The Indonesia Vs Guam National Team Match Was Still Continued
JAKARTA - The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has ensured that the Indonesian national team's match will continue, even though the 2022/2023 Indonesian League 1 is temporarily suspended.
The secretary general of PSSI, Yunus Nusi, assessed that the decision was taken because the risk of rivalry in the Indonesian national team match was not too high.
It is known that the U-16 Indonesian national team will play the inaugural U-17 Asian Cup qualifying match. In this case, the Garuda Muda team will face the Guam national team at Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Bogor, Monday, October 3, at 20.00 WIB.
"We all know that this is only for children, we convey that it will continue, of course with reference and basis that there is no rivalry there," Yunus told reporters, Sunday, October 2.
Yunus also said that the 2022/2023 Indonesian League 2 and League 3 competitions would continue. However, on condition that they take anticipatory steps, to prevent similar incidents such as at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java.
"What is clear is that league 1 competitions will be stopped. Other competitions will continue and of course I, PT LIB for league 2 have given instructions to the Implementing Committee, to take anticipatory steps," he concluded.
