The HI Roundabout Bus Stop Closes The Welcome Statue, The Transjakarta Calling Cultural Heritage Expert Team

JAKARTA - The Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB) and the DKI Jakarta Restoration Session Team (TSP) have met to discuss the issue of the HI Roundabout Transjakarta Bus Stop which is said to have covered the view of the Welcome Statue.

The chairman of the Jakarta TACB Candrian Attahiyyat said that his party would summon PT Transjakarta to discuss the issue.

"We have had an internal meeting. This issue has been included in the TSP and TACB meetings. We have closed to summon Transjakarta," Candrian said when contacted, Thursday, September 29.

In the summons for Transjakarta later, TACB and TSP will discuss solutions to the obstruction of the HI Roundabout area which is now the object of suspected cultural heritage (ODCB).

"There are several options submitted to Transjakarta, what is the decision. Is there a compromise to be lowered or dismantled. We have not received a definite conclusion because we have not summoned them," said Candrian.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the DKI Jakarta TSP, Boy Bhirawa, revealed that the revitalization of the HI Roundabout Transjakarta Bus Stop violated the procedures for preserving cultural heritage.

This is because the construction of the HI Roundabout Bus Stop, which is now becoming more magnificent, turns out to be included in the ODCB area.

"The restoration area of the cultural heritage belongs to the public, it belongs to the real citizens of the city. An important area that has indications of historicality or meaning in the city must remain in its position. So, it should not be covered up or damaged," said Boy.

Boy views that PT Transjakarta should have asked for recommendations from TSP and TACB before constructing a bus stop revitalization near the cultural heritage area. This recommendation is produced from expert studies.

"So all objects suspected of cultural heritage should have gone through the restoration team of the Restoration Session Team," said Boy.
