Frequent Brawls, Police Prepare Boxing Sites For Cilandak Youth Distribution Energy
JAKARTA - The Cilandak Sector Police (Polsek) provides boxing gyms for young people to prevent drug use and brawls and to be able to score achievements in their area.
"If you want to channel energy, we open a boxing gym to channel energy and pursue achievements," said Cilandak Police Chief Kompol Multazam Lisendra, quoting Antara, Wednesday, August 28.
Multazam added that this martial arts training brought in a coach from a well-known gym, namely a former athlete, so that children who aspire to become athletes can gain a lot of knowledge and experience from the coach.
According to Multazam, the main problem for children on the streets always revolves around brawls, drugs, and illegal racing, so it is feared that it will lead to worse actions.
"We also prevent drug trafficking and sales in vulnerable places. Drugs can lead to brawls and are not good for health either," he said.
He explained that all the criminal acts were carried out by them for various reasons, ranging from differences in understanding on social media to wanting to find their identity.
In fact, according to Multazam, there are other ways that are more useful if you want to show your superiority, namely channeling hobbies in the field of sports.
Therefore, Multazam hopes that the presence of Sanana at the Cilandak Police can be a place for children to shift their energy to boxing and "kickboxing".
"That's one of the preventive measures for drugs and brawls too, if they are tired of training, I don't think about making a brawl," he said.
