The KPK Threatens Poor Officials With Farmer's Rights Corruption

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri reminded anyone who commits corruption against the farmer program will be impoverished. They were asked not to do presumptuous practices.

"If we have enough strong evidence, we will choose the toughest option for anyone who is a corruption suspect in the farmer's welfare program, namely the longest prison sentence with the return of state money along with a fine or the KPK to poor corruptors through the money laundering article," Firli said in a written statement, Sunday, September 25.

Firli said farmers have a big role in advancing Indonesia, one of which is through balancing food stability. So, the KPK will not hesitate to ensnare those who are corrupt.

Anyone will be pursued and arrested if caught committing corruption against the rights of farmers. Severe punishment will also definitely be given.

"I make sure we will pursue, arrest and snare anyone who dares to disturb, let alone eat the state budget from farmer welfare programs, with the most severe corruption article," he said.

Not only that, Firli said farmers contributed during the COVID-19 pandemic. They continue to work so that Indonesia does not lack food.

So, the KPK will try to pay attention to the rights of farmers. Do not let officials steal their rights.

Firli said, officials should think about the welfare of farmers, not steal them. "Seeing the contribution, contribution and real role of farmers in the country so far, I have views, our food heroes should not be let down in the slightest, let alone stolen for their lives," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.

Firli asked his ultimatum not to be underestimated. The KPK will continue to monitor the rights of farmers through programs provided by the government.

"I remind and warn anyone, especially government officials, including related officials who take care of the livelihoods of farmers, not to try, let alone dare to play with the rights of these food heroes, who are given by the state through farmer welfare programs that have been launched by the government," he concluded.
