Follow Government Instructions On Electric Cars, Malang Regency Governments Choose Vehicle Rentals Instead Of Buying
JAKARTA - The Malang Regency Government is preparing a scheme for the use of electric cars after the issuance of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7/2022 concerning the use of electric vehicles into official vehicles for central and regional government agencies.
Deputy Regent of Malang Didik Gatot Subroto explained a number of steps prepared related to the use of electric cars into official vehicles. One of them is by renting a third party scheme.
"Maybe we can adopt what Surabaya did, namely renting the vehicle to a third party," said Didik in Malang, Thursday, September 22.
Didik explained that by using the electric vehicle rental scheme on third parties, it would be more efficient regarding the use of the budget. With this scheme, local governments can determine and regulate the budget amount within a certain period of time.
According to him, the scheme for renting an electric vehicle is considered more efficient than if the local government had to buy the vehicle. The purchase of electric vehicles is still quite heavy because of the ability of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (ABPD).
"This is indeed a central provision, but one, it has to do with budget capabilities. Almost all APBD areas are limited, so they haven't gotten there (purchase of electric cars)," he said as quoted by Antara.
He added that one of the things that became a basic consideration for the use of electric cars as official vehicles was the Malang Regency area which was quite wide and had a field that was not easy.
However, he continued, until now the local government is also still waiting for technical instructions from the central government regarding the use of electric cars as official vehicles, including preparing infrastructure such as charging stations.
"The Malang Regency area has a fairly difficult contour, there are mountainous areas. That is also a consideration. We are still waiting for technical instructions from the central government," he said.
