Implementation Of Data And Information Openness Certificates In SOEs, Erick Thohir: A Must, Can't Cover Yourself

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir emphasized the importance of data transparency of state-owned companies. Erick said, transparency and data disclosure can result in the best decisions, and avoid misperceptions.

"Data and information disclosure must be a culture that we must familiarize in SOEs. Because it is very important, in an era like today, that perception is sometimes formed not based on facts and data," he said, quoted Thursday, September 15.

Erick ensured that SOEs were very open related to data and transparency. According to him, this is part of his culture as a media person who does prioritize checking and balance.

"Information disclosure is a must and we must not shut ourselves up when there is criticism, it is what raises us," he explained.

On the other hand, Erick also emphasized the importance of information disclosure and data being carried out on an ongoing basis. This is of course supported by the presence of the media as part of checking and balance of information.

"This is why I continue to encourage how the editor-in-chief, the media leaders must be at the forefront of maintaining this balance. We don't want to get information where it is precisely the result that many parties make decisions wrongly," he said.

Furthermore, Erick also said that accurate data and facts would produce the best decisions, especially in terms of economics. Erick admits that the current difficult world economic situation poses risks to the global supply chain.

"This economy is something that is the blood of life from all countries in the world, which at this time is nothing but competing with this uncertain situation. Finally protect themselves, which ultimately hinders the so-called supply chain," he said.
