MALUKU - President Joko Widodo directly inspected the handover of social assistance (bansos) in Aru Islands Regency, Maluku, which was carried out at the Dobo Post Office, Thursday, September 15.Jokowi stated that until now the government has distributed Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for Fuel Oil (BBM) to beneficiaries in 461 districts and cities."To this day, the Government has distributed (to) 8,179,000 (people) and has increased to 461 regencies and cities. Yesterday, 431 were now 461, the jump was very fast," Jokowi said in a statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, September 15.He hopes that the speed of distribution of BBM BLT will have a good impact on people's purchasing power, so that the national economy will be maintained."We hope that with the speed of distribution of BBM BLT, people's purchasing power, people's consumption, will not go down," he added.In addition to BLT BBM, Jokowi also handed over other assistance in the form of basic necessities and BLT to participants of the Family Hope Program (PKH). The review of the handover of social assistance at the Dobo Post Office was Jokowi's second activity during his working visit to the Aru Islands.Previously, shortly after landing at Rar Gwamar Airport, Dobo, Jokowi and Iriana and their entourage took the time to visit Jargaria Market while providing social assistance to market traders and street vendors.Also accompanying Jokowi in the activities at the Dopo Post Office were Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and Regent of the Aru Islands Johan Gonga.Furthermore, Jokowi is scheduled to continue a series of working visits to Southwest Maluku Regency to review the delivery of social assistance and visit Werwaru Village for dialogue with buffalo breeders.
