Carlos Queiroz Returned To Training Iran For The 2022 Qatar World Cup
JAKARTA - The Iranian national team appointed Carlos Queiroz as the new manager, replacing Dragan Skocic who passed Team Melli to the 2022 World Cup.
Queiroz has signed a deal with the Iranian Football Federation to lead the Iranian national team in Qatar.
At the same time reported, Iran offered Skocic to take over the U-19 national football team. However, Skocic refused.
Queiroz himself had brought Iran to the 2014 and 2018 World Cups during eight years on duty in the Persian State. This is the longest task duration in the history of the Iranian national team.
Since April 2022, the former Real Madrid coach has been unemployed after he failed to bring the Egyptian national team to the Qatar World Cup.
Iran, which appeared in its sixth World Cup in Qatar, is scheduled to start a tournament against Britain on November 21, and play against Wales four days later and finish the group stage against the US on November 29.
