Democracy Rejects The Increase In Fuel In The DIY DPRD, Yogyakarta Police Falls 200 Security Personnel
YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta City Police have alerted 200 personnel to maintain a demonstration against the increase in fuel oil prices (BBM) in front of the Yogyakarta Special Region DPRD (DIY) Building today, Wednesday, September 7.
"We have prepared 200 personnel at the location," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Yogyakarta Police AKP Timbul Sasana Raharjo when contacted, Wednesday, September 7.
According to Timbul, the hundreds of personnel deployed were members of the Yogyakarta Police along with a number of police stations in the city of Yogyakarta.
He hoped that the participants could convey their aspirations in a polite manner and not damage public facilities or state-owned assets located in the Malioboro area.
"We still accept the submission of aspirations because aspirations are the right of the community. But actions must remain polite and not damage state facilities or assets," said Timbul.
Previously, the Indonesian Labor Assembly (MPBI) DIY stated that it would hold a free pulpit and audience with the DIY DPRD on Wednesday, September 7, at 10.00 WIB.
In the poster notification of the demonstration that circulated, the MPBI Action started from the Pal Putih Monument and then headed to the DIY DPRD Building.
In addition to the demonstration against the increase in fuel rates, the masses plan to also voice their demands for an increase in workers' wages and pressure to reduce the price of basic necessities.
Meanwhile, DIY Regional Secretary (Sekda) Kadarmanta Baskara Aji invited the public to hold demonstrations as long as they met the licensing aspect.
According to Aji, expressing opinions through demonstrations is the right of the community without the need to be colored by anarchic actions.
"There is no need for a peaceful demonstration of anarchy and then give aspirations to whom it will be conveyed. We hope that aspirations can be followed up to express opinions," he concluded.
