The Election Of The Chairperson Of PP Muhammadiyah Using An E-Voting Scheme, The Committee Expressed 2 Women's Namescalonated
SOLO - The Central Executive (PP) of Muhammadiyah will hold the 48th Congress in Solo, Central Java from 18-20 November 2022. In that event, the election for the Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah will be carried out using electronic voting or e-voting.
In the previous congress, it used a listing of names on paper and then it was signed.
The head of the Central Java (Central Java) Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PW), Tafsir, explained that there were 39 candidates selected by the participants until the remaining 13 names were then taken to the Congress.
A total of 13 selected people then convened and named the name of the General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah. In this scheme, the most voters do not necessarily become general chairmen.
Tafsir emphasized that in the Muhammadiyah tradition, cadres are not allowed to run as central administrators, but someone must nominate them.
Muhammadiyah, said Tafsir, also allowed female cadres to be nominated as PP Muhammadiyah Chairs even though this organization also houses a forum called Aisyiyah which has the same management structure as Muhammadiyah.
"About being elected or not, it's another matter. What is clear is that Muhammadiyah allows women to lead Muhammadiyah," said Tafsir, who is also a member of the Committee for the 48th Muhammadiyah Congress as well as a lecturer at UIN Wali Songo Semarang, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, September 6.
He said that the two female cadres of Islamic organizations had the opportunity to be nominated, namely Siti Noordjannah Djohantini, who is currently the General Chair of PP Aisyiyah. In addition, Rahmawati Husein, who is known as an NGO activist.
From the long side of the implementation, according to Tafsir, the congress in Solo was the shortest because it was only effective for 2 days, even though previously it was 5 days. "This is a kind of qashar jam congress (arrested) because the pandemic has not completely passed," he added.
The congress in Solo will be attended by around 5,000 participants, while the number of encouraging (exclaimed) congresses is estimated at more than one million people. From Sulawesi alone, he said, there were those who chartered ships by transporting around 15,000 bribers.
Meanwhile, according to the report received by the committee, the average branch (sub-district level manager) will send 5-10 buses to Solo. In fact, he said, in Central Java alone there are 570 Muhammadiyah branch administrators.
He added that the minutes "Islamjujujuan" which have recently been echoed by this mass organization will also be formulated and ratified in the upcoming congress.
The second largest mass organization in Indonesia wants to expand Islam rahmatan lil alamin not only in Indonesia but throughout the universe. Therefore, this mass organization is also actively opening business charities abroad, finally opening the Australia Muhammadiyah College. Previously, it also opened business charities in Malaysia in the form of universities and other schools as well as in Singapore.
According to the plan, President Joko Widodo will open the congress, while Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will close it.
