Angkot Tariffs In East Jakarta Rise After The Government Increases BBM Prices

JAKARTA - The tariff on public transportation at a number of terminals in East Jakarta has increased since it was announced that the government has announced an increase in fuel oil prices (BBM), Saturday, September 3.

The increase in public transport rates has made a number of mass transportation passengers complain. Although the cost increase rates are not too much, the passengers claim to feel the impact.

"The tariff started yesterday. I went up from Pasar Rebo Hospital to Cibubur Market, usually the cost of 7,000 has now increased to 8,000. Social costs have increased by 1,000," said Sumi, one of the passengers on public transportation to reporters, Tuesday, September 6.

In addition to passengers, it turns out that public transport drivers are also complaining about the increase in fuel prices. Even though the price has been decided to increase by the government, public complaints continue and ask the government to reduce fuel prices again.

"It's a problem, usually it attracts 3 rits, now it's only 2 RIs filled with 100 thousand. When fuel went up yesterday, passengers were a bit quiet," said Kohar, a public transport driver at Kampung Rambutan Terminal.

With the increase in fuel prices, Kohar said he was forced to increase the cost rate since it was announced the price of fuel increases.

"If possible, don't increase the fuel so that we can go together, sorry for the expensive passengers," he said.
