Minibus Wink Trucks On The Semarang-Batang Toll Road, 7 Victims Died

JAKARTA - Seven people were reported to have died in an accident involving a Toyota HiAce minibus with a truck on KM 375 of the Semarang-Batang Toll Road, Batang Regency, Monday 5 September morning.

The Head of Public Relations (Head of Public Relations) of the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol. Iqbal Alqudusy confirmed the unfortunate incident of the vehicle that was traveling from Jakarta to Semarang.

"The identities of the victims who died are still being collected," he said, quoted from Antara, Monday, September 5.

He explained that the accident began when Toyota Hiace numbered W 7202 NA drove from west to east.

"Minibus is traveling in the right lane, the weather is sunny, traffic flow is moderate," he said.

The minibus then hit the right back of the truck numbered L 8835 US which was driving from the same direction. Then, the minibus swerved and entered the ditch after hitting the back of the truck.

It is suspected that the minibus driver fell asleep when he arrived at the scene. Police officers together with the toll road manager then evacuated the dead or injured victim to the hospital.
