Attitudes Of The Increase In Fuel Prices, Tourism Industry Actors Asked For An Efficiency In Operational Costs
JAKARTA - Tourism industry players and the creative economy are expected to be able to make efficiency in operational costs as a solution that can be carried out as a result of the increase in fuel oil prices (BBM), observers said.
"Hotel business actors must be able to implement a greener energy program, which is environmentally friendly to reduce operational costs," said tourism observer Taufan Rahmadi in a written statement in Praya, Sunday.
He said the increase in fuel prices would have an impact on the tourism sector, so tourism industry players would adjust the increase in hotel room rates, transportation, basic materials and other tourism services.
In addition, the increase in fuel prices will have an impact on the number of domestic tourists to reduce and delay vacation plans, as well as the number of foreign tourists who come to Indonesia is threatened to decrease.
"Tourist visits will decrease, because hotel rentals will also increase the impact of increasing fuel," he said as quoted by Antara.
Learning from the increase in fuel prices so far, not only travel and airlines have increased prices, but also parasupliers who will increase prices, because transportation costs are increasing.
"All tourism actors will definitely make tariff adjustments," he said.
However, he considered, this increase is temporary, because both in the tourism industry and the creative economy are often proven to adapt quickly and have solutions so that they can immediately overcome these impacts.
"Hopefully the tourism actors can adapt to the increase in fuel prices. It's like carrying out efficiency from operational costs," he said.
