Transfer Fuel Subsidy To The Poor, This Is The Scheme

JAKARTA - The government has transferred some of the fuel subsidies to direct cash assistance (BLT) to underprivileged communities to ensure that the use of subsidies is right on target. The type of assistance provided is Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for BBM which is budgeted at IDR 12.4 trillion which is given in 20.65 million underprivileged families amounting to IDR 150 thousand per month and will be given in September for 4 months.

Not only that, the government has also prepared a budget of Rp9.6 trillion for 16 million workers with a maximum salary of Rp3.5 million per month in the form of a wage subsidy of Rp600 thousand.

"I have also ordered local governments to use two percent of public transfer funds of IDR 2.17 trillion for public transportation assistance, online motorcycle taxi assistance and for fishermen," said President Joko Widodo at a press conference in Jakarta, Saturday, September 3.

Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini on the same occasion explained that currently there are 20.65 million beneficiary families and are ready to be distributed through PT Pos Indonesia as many as 18,486,756 families.

"We will give this Rp. 150,000 4 times, but we will give it in 2 stages, so the stage is Rp. 300,000 per stage, we will give it as of September, later in early December we will give it the second stage," said Risma.

Risma added, on the way later if there are people who feel they deserve to receive social assistance but are not registered, they can register themselves in the rebuttal program on the Ministry of Social website.

"We have a site called rebuttal. So people can propose themselves to the rebuttal program and we will check in the field between regions and our companions. Currently we have 70,000 companions throughout Indonesia," said Risma.

Risma added that the Ministry of Social Affairs also provides a command center that can be contacted 1x24 hours in 365 days who are ready to serve public complaints. Meanwhile, for people who are unable to access social assistance due to health conditions or geographical area conditions, Risma ensures that there will be PT Pos officers who will visit the homes of BLT recipients.

"We will prepare specifically. For example, in Papua with PT Pos, we cooperate with tribal heads, local governments and religious leaders, we make special flights there. For sick people, people with disabilities do not need to come to the post office, PT Pos will take them to their homes. It's just a matter of calling, it's free checks at the suggestion of rebuttal or telephone can be checked why you haven't received it, so we will follow up," concluded Risma.
