Take Care Of Food Stability, The Government For Rice Stock And Food Materials Available Until The End Of 2022
JAKARTA - The government monitors and evaluates the implementation of national food policies in accordance with the current conditions. This is done so that the community's food needs can be met evenly. One of these policies is that the Government is currently strengthening rice stocks.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto hybridly chaired the Limited Coordination Meeting (Rakortas) for Food Policy, Friday, September 2. The coordination meeting was also held to ensure that all foodstuffs were sufficient until the end of 2022 through the expansion of planting and procurement.
"In the coordination meeting, the first was decided about the policy of purchasing grain/rice from farmers with price flexibility, and the second was the National Food Agency assigned Perum Bulog to strengthen CBP stock to purchase grain/rice using price flexibility," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
The farmers' gadu harvest is estimated to produce a harvest of 5 million tons. For this reason, Bulog is expected to absorb up to 1.2 million tons with price flexibility.
Furthermore, in the coordination meeting Coordinating Minister Airlangga explained that in August 2022, food ingredients experienced deflation of 2.64% (mtm). In detail, the food commodities that contributed to deflation in August 2022 were Bawang Merah 0.15%, Cabai Merah 0.12%, cabai Rawit 0.07%, Cooking Oil 0.06%, Chicken meat Ras 0.06%, tomatoes 0.03%, Fresh Fish, Jeruk and Garlic Bawang respectively 0.01%. Meanwhile, the commodities that contribute to inflation are chicken eggs and Rice eggs are 0.02% each.
"From this figure, yesterday we also had a meeting with all the governors and asked all governors to help reduce price-added inflation prices through various efforts, including market operations and regulating transportation as support to facilitate distribution," concluded Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
Also present on the occasion were the Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Trade, Minister of Industry, Deputy Minister of SOEs, Head of the National Food Agency, Deputy Food Task Force, Head of the Central Statistics Agency, Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency, President Director of Bulog, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Deputy for Food and Agribusiness Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, and who represented the Minister of Finance, as well as who represented Cabinet Secretary.
