Build A Train At IKN, Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya Jajaki In Cooperation With Austria
JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi together with Minister of National Development Planning (PPN/Bappenas) Suarso Monoarfa are exploring opportunities for cooperation in the transportation sector with Austria.
One of them is the construction of a cable car in the new capital city of the archipelago (IKN).
The discussion of this cooperation opportunity was carried out when the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN/Bappenas) Suarso Monoarfa made a working visit to Austria on Thursday, September 1.
During his working visit to Austria, the Minister of Transportation and the Minister of National Development Planning visited the Department of Agriculture Garaventa Group office in Wolfurt, Austria to meet with the CEO of Donimayr, Mr. Thomas Pichler, as well as see firsthand the manufacturing system and management of cable trains.
For your information, D waymayr Garaventa Group is an international cable car manufacturer and driving people for ski areas, urban transportation, amusement parks, and material handling systems.
As of 2019, the company has carried out more than 15,000 installations in 96 countries.
Budi said this visit provided valuable insight into the cable car technology that had been developed by Dohammayr.
"I appreciate the leadership of the Minister of Bappenas in preparing IKN. And we will also develop a cable car as one of the environmentally friendly transportations to serve mobility and tourism in the Central Government Core Area at IKN," Budi said in an official statement quoted on Friday, September 2.
At IKN, said Budi, the cable car will serve as a transportation service to connect business and commercial zones with housing zones in IKN.
"Not only in IKN, cable trains can also be used in a number of areas in Indonesia, to connect hilly areas or difficult to reach other than being used as tourist attractions," he said.
On that occasion, Budi also invited Donimayr and a number of companies in Austria to participate in the development and development of rail transportation systems in Indonesia, especially cable trains.
This includes collaborating on the development of human resources (HR) in cable car technology, by implementing HR exchange programs, as well as other programs.
Also attending the visit were Acting Director General of Railways Zulmafedi, Deputy for Economic Affairs of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bapennas Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, as well as the ranks of the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappennas.
