This Beautiful YouTuber Is Being Hunted By The Police Regarding The Allegation Of Foreign Valuta Trading Fraud: Accustom Of Victims With Pamer Assets At Social Media
JAKARTA - Thai police are hunting for a YouTuber nicknamed 'Nutty', linked to alleged millions of dollars in fraud through foreign exchange, targeting his followers online.
Natthamon Khongchak (29), who also usesore and Suchata, has nearly 850,000 followers on the video-sharing platform.
Local media reported there may have been up to 6,000 victims who lost up to 55 million US dollars, after a 35 percent investment refund was promised.
So far, as many as 102 victims have filed a complaint with the authorities with a total loss of 30 million baht (825.000 US dollars), said Thailand's deputy supervisor of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, Wattana Ketumpai.
Police alleged that Nutty advertised her personal wealth on social media platforms, to trick the victim into thinking she was quickly rich from foreign exchange.
"This fraud is similar to other Ponzi schemes, but the difference is public relations and fraudulent methods," Wattana said, launching CNA from AFP Aug. 31.
"There may be more complaints (from victims) in the future," he continued.
He said several victims had started filing complaints since early 2021.
Watana said the police were trying to collect evidence to file charges related to fraud, computer crime and get a loan with fraud.
Earlier this month, Bangkok Court issued an arrest warrant for Nutty.
Several reports say he has fled to Malaysia. However, Wattana said, based on immigration records, he remains in the country, although his whereabouts are unknown.
It is known, his YouTube and Instagram accounts are filled with video dance and music.
In his last Instagram post on May 25, he apologized to the victims and promised to pay the money back.
"I apologize for causing trouble and disappointing so many people. I want to apologize for this incident from the bottom of my heart," he said.
AFP contacted Nutty for comment on this matter, but she has not responded.
