Flood Rendam Abdul Azis Singkawang Hospital: 14 Patients Accurated, Full IGD Room
KALBAR - A total of 14 patients at Abdul Aziz Singkawang Hospital had to be evacuated, because the water level that submerged the patient's ward had not subsided until Saturday, August 27.
"The patients who were evacuated were 11 patients from the pediatric ward and 3 patients from VIP," said Director of Abdul Aziz Singkawang Hospital, Achmad Hardin in Singkawang, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan), quoted from Antara, Sunday, August 28.
He explained that patients from the VIP class were moved to grade 1, while 11 patients from the children's ward were moved to the Nifas room.
Meanwhile, patients who are in the internal medicine and surgical rooms have not been evacuated, because the rooms are still not empty.
He hoped it would not rain again, because the water level at Abdul Azis Hospital was still standing.
For the time being, Abdul Aziz Singkawang Hospital did not accept emergency patients, because there were no empty rooms. "If there are patients, we will transfer them to other hospitals," he said.
As previously reported, on Saturday, August 27, due to high rainfall and sea water embankments at the Singkawang Resort, a number of wards at Abdul Azis Singkawang Hospital were flooded.
A number of patients at Abdul Azis Singkawang Hospital must also sleep on puddles.
"The water has been in since this afternoon, until now it is still high, but there is no bed. Only under the bed has been flooded," said Siti, one of the families of patients being treated in the inpatient ward at Abdul Azis Singkawang Hospital.
The flood also inundated a number of hospital alleys and a number of roads in Singkawang City which resulted in access roads in and out of Pontianak-Singkawang being hampered, where a number of vehicles decided to turn around to avoid flooding.
