Don't Want To Join The PlayStation 5, Nintendo Hasn't Planned To Price Even Though It's Inflation
JAKARTA - Nintendo does not yet have a plan to increase the price of the Switch console even though the world has been hit by inflation lately.
Citing the Eurogamer and The Verge pages, Saturday 27 August, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa told shareholders they had no plans to raise the price of the hardware.
"We cannot comment on price strategies, at this time we have no plans to change our hardware prices due to inflation or rising procurement costs in each country," Nintendo said as quoted by Antara.
"The final price to consumers is determined by the seller, but, as Mr. Furukawa said, Nintendo has no plans to increase the price of hardware," Nintendo said again.
The strategy Sony uses to deal with inflation is different. They raise the price of the PlayStation 5 console in several countries, including Europe, Great Britain, China, Japan, Australia, Mexico, and Canada.
The Verge wrote the price of the VR headset device from Meta, Quest 2, up 100 US dollars recently.
